Youth Development

The new and exciting role of Youth Development Worker has been created within the Central Baptist Association with funding provided by the DfES. It is a part-time role (2 days a week) with the aim to help the churches of the Association to become "missionary congreations" in our thinking and actions; places where young people are always welcomed and valued.

The specific responsibilities include:

  1. Encouraging and developing a sustainable network of youth workers across the Association
  2. Initiatin and promoting training for youth workers in the Association churches by organising events and through contact with local churches and clusters
  3. Advising churches and the Association on appropriate youth work resources, technigues and courses
  4. Relating to ecumenical counterparts and represent the Association in youth matters as necessary
  5. Liasing with those responsible in the Association for the promotion and organisation of Child Protection training, and participating insofar as time and abilities allow
  6. Undertaking such other tasks as directed by the Association Council from time to time
